Meet The Team

Priya Shelly

Priya Shelly

Creator | Host

PRIYA SHELLY is an award winning filmmaker and the Creator, Writer, and Host of From the Field. Priya decided to make this podcast after directing and producing “Living with Coyote,” a short documentary. While researching the doc, Priya spoke with so many hard working scientists who didn’t really have a way to share their work with the public. Priya decided to uncover the voices of scientists around the globe and share their stories through the podcast.

In 2017, her award winning debut film, Living with Coyote was selected by National Geographic’s Short Film Showcase. It lives on Nat Geo’s YouTube channel with 68k+ views. It has screened at multiple festivals including Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, International Wildlife Film Festival and won Best Environmental Film at the Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2015.

Priya has a B.F.A in Film and Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and also works on various television shows such as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Godfather of Harlem, as a Location Coordinator in New York City.
